Speedy Healthy PizzaBish Bosh, pizza in under 10 minutes and for 7 of those it's in the oven!
I make this, or a version of this at least once a week. It's lunch, it's dinner. On its own or with salad and veges. It works for everyone in the family and often we'll all tailor make our own with favourite toppings and share them hot out of the oven whilst gathered round the table. I bought a pizza tray from Aldi ages ago for about $4 and it's the perfect item - it heats up quickly and the pizzas crisp up really well. You can use whatever you have, a pizza stone, baking tray or even an upside down roasting tin - it's better to have a flat surface so the heat can get directly to the pizza. I use wholemeal flatbreads instead of homemade pizza bases (love them but who has time?!). They go beautifully crisp and with all the toppings, any fussy eaters will not even notice they're wholemeal. Store bought pizza base is often full of stodgy white flour, oils, salt, sugar and preservatives which are unkind to your gut. These flatbreads have no added nasties. It does mean their shelf life is shorter so I store them in the fridge for a couple of days from buying then move any I haven't used into the freezer. These delicious and versatile flatbreads defrost within about 3 minutes so easy to do while your oven is heating up. |

How to make
(note, instructions are a general guide only)
Get your oven nice and hot
I go for about 220 (200 fan forced). Pre-heating for at least 5 mins is essential.
Assemble
Place the pizza base straight onto the pizza tray or stone
Spread the Bolognese sauce over the pizza base. Use more if you like a saucier pizza.
Note You want the sauce to be as rich and thick as possible so watch out for any watery sauce which would make the base damp. Drain excess liquid away before spreading.
Next add the cheese and the toppings. Which comes first is an eternal debate.....I do a bit of cheese, my toppings, then a bit more cheese!
Cook
Place in the hot oven on the top shelf and cook for around 7 minutes or until crispy base and cheese is melting.
Transfer & devour
Slip the pizza straight onto a board, cut using a large knife and enjoy hot.
Let the cheese cool a little first if you're serving to kids!
