Challenge what you think you know about meditation
Meditation. I think it needs a re-brand. Google image it and you're swamped with the predictable man/ woman/ monk/ frog/ dog (I'm not joking) sitting in a Zen-like scene, cross legged in the lotus position.
Most of us believe that meditation requires us to clear our minds, say a mantra over and over or follow some kind of spiritual belief. Let me say that I don't believe that any of that is true .The truth is that meditation is so much less and so much more than the stereotype would have us imagine. It is about focusing on the present moment and you get there by breathing in and out. That is about it, in its essence. 5 things you may not know about meditation:

Do watch! Over the years, I've tried a few different types of meditation. I love the calm of it all but I haven't always felt comfortable with the religious aspects. I came across Headspace in a BBC documentary and after watching this video, (above) was inspired.
