More Chicken Soup, Yoga and Books
As its stands today, that's the essence of my new years resolutions. I like the coming of a new year - the celebrations aside, it's always a good chance for me to reflect on life as it is and set some goals for the coming year. As you can see, this year.....I'm aiming high (winking jokey emoticon). With the stats stacked miserably against most new years resolutions, I gave up making proper ones a few years ago. Instead I'm keeping it easy, hopefully. Quite simply, my chicken soup is a giver-of-life: mender of sore throats, broken hearts, dodgy guts, bad days at work and all else. Each time I make it I think I ought to do it more. So I shall. The recipe will be here soon. It's an amalgam of many different recipes I've tried over the years and is best tweaked to each individual's taste. Try it and you will not be sorry. All life and no yoga makes Louise a dull (and potato shaped) girl. Somehow I've fallen off the yoga wagon and lost my yoga mojo these last few months. Quite simply I've got out of the routine and it makes no sense at all. For me it's a workout, massage, meditation all rolled into one. I feel fantastic and so relaxed after each and every class. I have been going to the same school for nearly 10 years. It's a low-key, peaceful place in which I feel very comfortable and at home. I can lose myself entirely in the routine and emerge refreshed and en route to being a bit more fit in body and mind. Once a week is the goal for 2016. I'd like to do more but not going to jinx it by setting the bar too high! |
Finally, books.......more books = a metaphor for many parts of my life. More books to me means lose the technology, unplug more often, go off the grid, go back to basics, go to bed earlier, don't waste valuable energy on time-sapping technology, teach my kids to read, learn about new stuff, explore some new perspectives and get inspired.

So there we go. 5 days in and I'm feeling good about 2016. At 9.32pm after a meal of chicken soup, some yoga earlier today I guess I better put my money where my mouth is, get my ass to bed early and read my book. Hmm maybe just a little cheeky check on Facebook first?!
NO no no.....
